Create A Unique Décor With Wallpaper

Wallpaper is a special way to redo any room and make it just the way you want it. It will express who you are and show your creative talents. All it takes is a few hours to completely change the look of a whole room. You can paper the whole thing or just do a wall or two. However you choose to use it, wallpaper will provide a whole new look to any room.
When you use wallpaper you can also hide the conditions of existing walls that have cracks or other flaws. Wallpaper can take a room from boring to spectacular in a way that paint and other techniques can't do. Wallpaper can make a room look bigger or smaller, which is another way that you can change the functionality of the room.
After you've decided that you want to use wallpaper to decorate a room, there are several other things that you'll need to decide before you go out and purchase your wallpaper and start the project. You'll need to know what type of wallpaper to use to get the effect that you want for your room.
If you're a small room that you want to give the feel of being larger you should pick wallpaper that has small designs or prints on it. For instance, if you're your bathroom you might want to pick a pattern that has small pansies. This will make your small bathroom seem much larger than it actually is. Another technique for making rooms seem larger than they are is to use lighter colors rather than dark colors.
On the other hand wallpaper that has a big design or say big flowers on it will make the room look smaller. Also in opposition to light colours dark colours make any room smaller than it actually is. You would thus want to use dark coloured wallpaper in big places where the requirement is to make the place look smaller and cosier. You can do so for example in your basement family room to make it look more comfortable.
When you want to create the illusion that a room has high ceilings you'll want to choose wallpaper that has patterns that run from the floor to the ceiling or that has stripes that run in the vertical direction. This type of wallpaper is great for rooms that are narrow and long, making them wider in appearance.
